Panel sealed 1TS/1US/1VS 2011-11-24

The sealing are 1TW for 1TS, 1UW for 1US and 1VW for 1VS. They are black and made of silicone. Caps with the sealings are mounted on Multimec 5G series switches.

The solution is excellent for rough environment, designed for outdoor, dusty and humid applications. The 1TW and 1UW provide IP67, and the 1VW provides IP65 sealing from the front panel.

The New “Snap-On” Cap Retention System 2011-04-19

The new generation 5 Series switches have an improved "snap-on" cap retention system. The 5 Series pushbutton switches divide into two type of switches with each having its own retention system.

5E switch has a retention system for caps with smaller dimensions, whereas 5G switch has a retention system for caps with both smaller and larger dimensions. The illuminated smaller dimension caps are used on 5G switch and the non-illuminated ones are recommended to be used on 5E switch.

illuminated Navimec Module 2010-08-25

MEC is offering a switch module, consisting of 5 switches, PCB and a connector.  The module can be ordered with or without caps for multicolored illumination for creating highly flexible displays. Designed for use with illumec switches, up to 5 different colours including bi-colour can be combined in one switch: four illumec within the outer ring and an additional illumec in the centre. For designers and developers, this opens up new and previously unimagined possibilities. For the bi-colour solution, the designer will have to consider the reverse polarity in the electronic design work.  This is a finished module to be mounted on the back side of the front panel with bolts, we compose it and deliver it after your wishes.

Generally about Illuminated Navimec: 

We have launched the Navimec switch concept already, which offers soft-touch navigator functionality making it possible to navigate up, down, left and right with the provision of a centre function that will typically be used as an enter or on/off key.

The Navimec concept is designed for PCB mounting and should be incorporated in control panels. Illumec switches offering very bright illumination and excellent tactile feel. The Navimec module should be mounted on the back side of the front panel via bolts, one in each corner, and the Navigator goes through the panel via the cut out. It is important that the user follows the cut out recommendations above. The Navimec module includes the Multimec switches and are RoHS complaint and has a life of 10 million operations and waterproof sealing IP67. The keycaps are specifically designed with a hi-tech look and a soft touch finish obtained by an elastomeric coating.

The MEC Navimec solution are a very useful addition to the range of man-machine interface solutions. The Navimec caps for illumination are made in frosted white material, painted with soft touch paint, and the legend will be made by laser edging.  

Navimec switches are available with or without illumination and the non-illuminated versions may be printed with appropriate legends.

New keycap - 1JS 2010-06-07

The 1JS keycaps are launched in nine standard colours: 00 blue/02 green/03 grey/04 yellow/06 white/08 red/09 black/11 transparent/16 frosted white. In combination with the switch the 1JS becomes the lowest illuminated keycap possible; especially designed for foil overlays and featuring soft edges for extended foil overlay lifetime. The 1JS 11/16 has superior illumination potential when combined with the newest Multimec 5G switch. Illumination can be either surface mount or through-hole. Cap retention is optimized with an innovative “snap-on” system.

1JS can also be used as a normal keycap extending through the front panel.

Panel Sealed Navigator 2010-01-04

Controlmec™ is a new five position integrated switch solution, designed for outdoor, dusty and humid applications, to control a unit, navigate in a display, operate auxiliary equipment on a vehicle, boat or similar. The Controlmec is sealed to IP67 and comprises:

- One solid cap, with a recess on the back for the seal efficiency.

- A gasket to seal between the cap and the customers panel.

- A support ring to ensure the right position of sealing behind the front plate.                    

- The PCB including the switches.

The PCB shall be mounted to the rear of the front panel by bolts to ensure the correct pressure for the sealing efficiency.

The Controlmec is an extension of the Navimec system which includes the high quality Multimec switches, with 10 million cycle lifetime.

Configurations can be made with through-hole or SMD switch versions, provided they are accurately positioned.
